6 pro golfers to follow during The 2026 Masters tournament

For this April in Augusta, our beat writers pick six golfers and their odds at winning The Masters

Jamey’s players to watch:

Matt Fitzpatrick (+2350)

Tremendous form and one of the most consistent players in golf right now. He has been in the mix here before and has the accuracy to navigate these tricky Augusta fairways. I think he will be in contention and has a realistic chance to win his 2nd major.

Tommy Fleetwood (+2500)

Knows the course well and finally got over the hump with a win last season. His recent form has also been very encouraging. I like his value here and believe he has a real shot at winning.

Patrick Reed (+4300)

Former winner who knows what it takes to get it done at Augusta. With a 3rd place finish last year and multiple top 10s at the Masters paired with two wins under his belt in 2026 I believe the price is too good to pass up on.

Cam’s players to watch:

Xander Schauffele (+1800)

Xander has quietly been playing some fantastic golf in the past two months. In his last five starts he has three finishes inside the top 7 and has not finished outside the top 25. This impressive form has been flying under the radar due to his inability to put together four quality rounds in a row to start the year. With five top 10s in his last 7 tries at Augusta, Xander seems primed for a breakthrough at The Masters. The strong form coupled with past Major Championship success make Xander my favorite value at the top of the board.

Patrick Reed (+4300)

Reed’s has a strong course history at Augusta to go along with sparkling form on the DP World Tour to start the season. His strong approach game and experience around these greens should serve him well in his 13th Masters appearance. In his last eight stops here he has five top 10 finishes, to go alongside a victory in 2018. Take that alongside a top 3 finish last year, and two victories in his last five starts on the DP World Tour and I see too much value not to capitalize.

Jacob Bridgeman (+8400)

Bridgeman at this number is just too appealing not to throw a dart. He has eight PGA tour starts this year, and is yet to finish outside the top 20, to go along with a signature event win and a top five in the spotlight at The Players. He ranks 4th on the PGA tour in strokes gained overall (+2.38), and has the approach game to succeed at Augusta. This being his first appearance at Augusta is likely the reason for these long odds, which is fair as Augusta has been difficult for first time competitors.

However, he has shown the ability to win a meaningful tournament alongside one of the best in the world in Rory McIlroy, so this number is just too enticing. I am also interested in playing him to finish top 5 or top 10, as those feel more realistic.
